The Impact of The Paparoa Great Walk

Introduction:I believe that the great walk is a positive
and a negative thing for the reason that there are
good things and bad things about the great walk
going in Blackball.

The reasons I agree with the walk are the tourists and
the people in our community can remember the men who died in
the pike river mine. The memorial could be one way to help you
find your way along the Paparoa tops.
The tourists and people in our community will want to see the
old coal mine in Blackball. 

In addition the shops would be making more money because
the tourists are buying food and supplies for themselves.
In fact if they want to stay in a hut for the night they need those
things. Car Companies will be making more money because
when the tourists finish the  track the car companies can take
them back to their cars in Punakaiki or Blackball.
Motels will be making more money because tourists will be
needing to stay somewhere for the night.

The reasons I disagree with the walk are People are losing
some of their poputey because they need to make the road
wider in Blackball because of the traffic that is going to be
happening for the great walk. There could be more accidents
on the track like people going off the track and getting lost
because they haven’t remembered how to get back on track.
The hut will be booked so it makes it harder for the locals to
walk it or stay the night.

Conclusion:My argument proves that the great walk can be a
positive and a negative idea because shops are making more
money from the tourists that come earlier to Blackball or
Punakaiki also the memorial will be seen a lot more than usual.
Also the roads are more busyer because of the tourists want
to walk,run and mountain biking on the track.
